Day 1

Our morning was spent at Ilera Church, singing, clapping and dancing with over 600 members of the church which Bob and Carol began years ago when Otino Waa first started. Children openly stared at the foreigners who had come to visit their church, the women greeted us shyly. We had the chance to photograph some of the members of the church, who nervously smiled and thanked us for taking their photo.

After the 4 hours at church, we ate lunch at our assigned families within Otino Waa. We will be eating lunch with these families everyday that we are here. This way, we can get to know the kids and mother in that particular home. I have 8 girls in my home and one little boy (the son of the widow house mom) ranging in age from 8-15. They greeted me warmly but shyly, then proceeded to sing songs and dance for me. They were incredible and I think this is going to be one of my favorite parts of my time in Uganda.

  1. Wonderful images friend... Thank you for sharing! If you have a decent internet connection, sign up for networked blogs with Facebook, then when you do a blog post, it will post on your FB as well. Everyone should be reading and seeing these images rockstar. Now, how about one for Benjamin, maybe my wife with some kiddos or something?
